How Will You Express Yourself Online?
The Educational Technology and Mobile Learning site shares these tips for leaving a positive digital footprint:
- Never post anything that you might find embarrassing later. Think before you post!
- Do not post things that will bully, hurt, or insult anyone.
- Be careful with the pictures you post on your public profiles. Again, think before you post. Would you want your mother, father, grandmother, principal, or employer to see your posts.
- Check your privacy settings on your social networking sites. Are they private?
- Do not share your personal address, phone number, passwords with anyone!
- Remember that once information has been posted online, it can be almost impossible to remove because of archiving and file sharing. Posts live on in cyberspace. Even if you deactivate your accounts, the information may still be found.
