The Definition and Purpose of a Citation:
When using other sources (books, websites, databases, journals, videos, & more) in your assignments & research papers, you will need to give credit to the author(s) & sources in your work in order to avoid plagiarism (using someone else's ideas without giving them credit & making it appear to be your own ideas & words). These include but are not limited to: quotations, statistical data, & paraphrasing. Citations are the evidence that provides specific information to your reader about where you found the sources.
